Fifty five players from two post primary schools in the SW of Ulster competed for almost Five hours in Monaghan Collegiate in Castleblayney in the Table Tennis Ulster SW Regional Table Singles tournament. Four events were contested with players playing a initially in a round robin group of 3 or 4 players before battling for positions in a knock out stage.

The U19 Girls Singles was won by Deborah Wilson from the Collegiate who defeated her  fellow Monaghan Collegiate player Jessica Eakin in a competitive final. Third place went to Isla Keating  from Monaghan Collegiate.

Not to be outdone by his sister Adam Wilson made it a family clean sweep of Under 19  SW Regional titles  by winning the U19 Boys final. Second place went to schoolmate Avon Wylie with Royal School  Cavan duo Tate Williams and Jack Keyes  sharing third spot.   

The U14 Girls final was contested by Collegiate duo Lucy Reid and Faye McAdoo with Jessica edging the close final. Joint third went to Royal School Cavan’s Rebecca Hudson and Monaghan’s Naomi Carleton

Jeffrey Sloan  from Monaghan Collegiate took the U14 title beating Yukan Fanfrom the Royal School Cavan in the final. Joint third went to Ryan Soraghan from Monaghan Collegiate and George Chambers            from Royal School Cavan.
