Table Tennis Leagues within the province of Ulster.

The Belfast and District Table Tennis League

  • The Belfast and District Table Tennis League season begins mid-October.
  • There are five Divisions making it a competitive league with challenges for everyone.
  • Teams consist of 3 or 4 players with matches consisting of 9 x singles and 1 x doubles or 8 x singles and 2 x doubles.
  • All matches are the best of 5 games.
  • Teams will be awarded 1 point for each game they win. Four bonus points will be awarded for an overall win. The bonus points will be split for a draw.
  • The winning captain (or the home captain in the case of a draw) is responsible for uploading the results via the app or website, along with a simple match report. Results are updated each weekend.
  • Division winners will normally be promoted, and bottom teams will normally be relegated.
  • Players failing to arrive within one hour of the starting time shall forfeit their matches.

Lecale League (Co. Down)

  • The Lecale League was founded in 1957 and is based in the Downpatrick area, although teams from outside the area compete in the league.
  • The league consists of two divisions and caters for all level of players.
  • Teams consists of 3 persons, with matches consisting of 9 x singles and 1 x doubles.
  • Teams are awarded 2 points for winning the overall match or 1 point each for a draw.

East Down Churches League (Co. Down)

  • The East Down Churches League was founded in the mid 1950’s and initially only accepted teams from local churches, however, the rule has long since been relaxed and all teams are now welcome.
  • The league consists of two divisions and caters for all level of players.
  • Teams consist of four players, with matches consisting of 8 x singles and 2 x doubles.
