Fourteen participants travelled to Coleraine on the 3 December 2023 to compete in round 3 of the Table Tennis Ulster challenger series.
It was great to see competitors from Ormeau TTC , Osmond TTC, Omagh TTC, Monaghan TTC, Enniskillen, Mournes TTC and Coleraine TTC
After the initial group stages they split into 4 bands.
There were a lot of fantastic three set matches throughout the afternoon.
In Band 1
Semi finals
Jack Bailie Ormeau beat Lea Gal Ormeau
James Righton Osmond defeated Eimear Hutchinson
In the tense final
Jack Bailie Ormeau defeated James Righton
Band 2 Final
Mathew Bailie Ormeau defeated Ashvik N Rao Omagh
Band 3
A very close contest in this Band with Toblas Gal Ormeau winning the group from second place Oisin O’Hare Mourne
Third and fourth place went to Reece Maguire Mourne and Oliver Zagrapan Osmond
Band 4
Another interesting contest with James Vallelly Ormeau coming out top with Advika N Rao Omagh runner up. Third and fourth places went to Travis McKeown Coleraine and Darragh Scanell Mourne
Francis Shirley Table Tennis Ulster Regional Coach presented the prizes, while tournament organiser John Fall Osmond thanked the parents for bringing their son/daughter to Coleraine and thanked the local council Sports Development for the use of their great facilities.
